If you have just got your GCSE grades, congratulations, school life is now over. This might seem a strange thing to say, but when it comes to A-Level there is a sixth form alternative which more and more students have come to enjoy over the years – life at a tutorial college.

The choice is yours now, the world is before you, and, at Cherwell, we know that this can be both exciting and daunting.

What you decide to study at A-Level will do so much to determine your career path, your future, and study choices can be difficult to take.

That is why we have designed an approach to A-Level that means it really is all about you — our main method of teaching is through individual tuition.

To take full advantage of the modern curriculum you need to be offered the space and flexibility to explore your options. Cherwell students are able to take their time when choosing subjects — we don’t assume our GCSE students can be sure of any choices they take until AS-Level actually begins.

If you have enjoyed a subject at GCSE, or there is something that’s new to you at AS-Level, like law or politics, psychology or music technology, media studies or photography — we will let you try it out this September so you can really decide whether it is right for you.

It is all part of treating you as an adult, helping you to take control of your life.

At Cherwell we will help you every step of the way.

Your tutors and your director of studies offer expert guidance and take a lot of time to understand your achievements so far, your real interests, and how they can translate into a future study and career plan.

If your GCSE results were not quite what you wanted and you're worried about A-Level progression, individual tuition can really come to the rescue.

At Cherwell College, you can easily retake a GCSE or two alongside new AS-Level study.

Because of our focus on individual tuition, your final choice of subjects can be any combination, and can be at your pace — it is all about you and helping you progress.

And do you need help improving your AS-Levels during a final A2 year?

If you are reading this having finished AS-Levels but not with the results you hoped for, we can help.

We can offer a very flexible year of study, allowing you to make the most of your recent AS achievement, improving grade along the way, while still progressing to A2 study.

University is still only a year away.
