A man has appeared in court charged with robbery after cash was stolen from a city centre bookmakers.
Michael Hardisty, 27, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, appeared before magistrates in the city yesterday.
He is alleged to have threatened staff at William Hill, in New Inn Hall Street, on Tuesday with a plank of wood before stealing approximately £30 in change.
The case was referred to Oxford Crown Court to be heard on Monday.
