It is a proper rush-hour headache for anyone who has to use junction nine of the M40.
To many of us who flick on the radio in the morning, the tailbacks on the traffic report are all too familiar.
But, despite cuts, cuts and more cuts, the planned £4m changes to the nightmare junction will start this week.
Phase one of planned upgrades will see the southbound motorway exit slip road widened and entry on to the A34 improved to combat chronic congestion.
The work will stretch into winter with the prospect of speed restrictions and lane closures.
These changes have been in the pipeline for years and we hope drivers can grin and bear it.
Hopefully, it will be worth the short-term pain.
