A PINT-SIZED music festival is preparing to put itself firmly on the music map.

This year will be the fourth Livestock festival to be held in Stratton Audley, near Bicester.

But for the first time the three-day festival, which kicks off on Friday, August 13, spreads beyond its home at the Red Lion pub, in Church Street, to include a new Family Field Day at Hall Farm on the Sunday. Fusing world music and food with ‘down home country’ sounds and sideshows of ferrets, alpacas and displays of vintage agricultural machinery, organiser Malachy O’ Neill believes there is something for everyone.

Mr O’Neill said he hoped Livestock would soon become known as the best of the so-called ‘boutique festivals’, smaller events with quirky entertainment and a friendly atmosphere.

He said: “You can’t describe most music festivals as intimate, relaxed and friendly. But that’s just what makes Livestock special.”

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Anthony Nolan Trust, and Maggie’s Centre at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford.
