Sir – On the evening of Monday, July 26, my wife and I went to see Reginald D. Hunter at The Regal on the Cowley Road.

Whilst we enjoyed his performance, we were less impressed with the rest of the evening. The show was scheduled to start at 7.45pm, the doors having opened at 6.15pm, but nothing happened until 8.15pm when Reginald D. Hunter announced the first act.

At around 8.50pm there was a long interval, before another comedian was introduced, followed by yet another long interval. Reginald D. Hunter did not feature until 10.15pm. His act concluded before 11pm. The venue itself was sweltering and the cost of refreshments seemed excessively expensive. No announcement or apology was given by the management for the delay in the start of the show.

Overall, we were very disappointed with the evening and we felt that it was over-priced and that we saw far too little of the main act.
