OXFORD: The FA Cup Final runner’s-up medal awarded to former Oxford United midfielder Les Taylor was sold yesterday for almost £4,000.
The medal was awarded at the 1984 final, when Mr Taylor captained Watford at Wembley. It fetched £3,960 at auction in Chester – almost £1,000 more than expected.
Mr Taylor now works as Oxford United’s youth development officer.
