The Duke of Gloucester has become the royal patron of the Woodstock Literary Festival, organisers have announced.

Festival vice-chairman Jill Dunsmore said: “We are greatly honoured that his Royal Highness has kindly agreed to become the royal patron, and that he has already taken such a keen interest in the plans for developing the festival programme.”

The event, held in locations around the town, including Blenheim Palace, takes place this year from September 15 to 19.
