GOLFERS are preparing for Oxfordshire’s first Longest Day Golf Tournament to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Teams of three or four golfers are being invited to take part in the challenge, playing 18 holes at four of the best golf courses in the county on Sunday.

The winning team will receive the Oxfordshire Longest Day Golf Tournament Trophy, and all teams will be entered in a national competition, from which the top four will take part in the finals at the Boa Vista Golf Resort in Portugal.

Stella Krajewski, the county’s area fundraising manager for Macmillan, said: “This is a great chance for people to have fun while raising vital funds to change the lives of people living with cancer.

““This could be a good way to remember your loved one and help others at the same time.”

Participating golf clubs include Hadden Hill, Wallingford Road, Didcot, Heythrop Park near Chipping Norton, Rye Hill Golf Club, Banbury, and Southfield Golf Club in Oxford.

Teams can sign up at macmillan.org.uk/golf or telephone 01869 322279.

Macmillan also wants to hear from other golf clubs which want to take part.
