A MEETING is taking place this evening to discuss the future of children’s heart operations at the city’s John Radcliffe Hospital.

Members of the NHS management board are looking into how children’s heart surgery is carried out in the UK and has decided to close half of the 11 paediatric heart units, including the one at the Headington hospital.

Parents and former patients treated at the unit will have the chance to make their voices heard at a consultation meeting taking place at the Oxford Centre, at 333 Banbury Road, in Summertown, between 5pm and 8pm.
