A man died following a motorbike accident on the outskirts of Bicester.
The crash happened on Saturday at 2pm on a roundabout at the junction of the A4211 Skimmingdish Lane and Launton Road.
The man, in his late 20s, was pronounced dead before he arrived at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.
Investigating officer Pc Alistair Thorne said witness reports indicated no other vehicle was involved.
He said: “The bike and the rider collided with the roundabout.”
The cause of the crash is not yet known and police investigations are ongoing.
Pc Thorne said: “We have spoken to witnesses who saw the accident.
“We are still awaiting reports from the investigation of the scene and our mechanics are now looking at the bike.
“This happened on the bypass that goes around Bicester.
“It is a single lane, 50mph limit stretch of road and the roundabout itself is on the edge of an industrial estate.”
He added: “There were people on the approaches to the roundabout from all directions. There was regular Saturday traffic.”
Police have appealed for further witnesses to come forward.
Anyone with any information, or who witnessed the collision, is asked to call Pc Thorne on 08458 505505.
