A woman was threatened with a meat cleaver while walking in Blackbird Leys, Oxford.
The 45-year-old was approached by a man in an alley between Sorrel Road and Little Bury, who demanded she hand over her bag. When she refused he has threatened her with a meat cleaver.
Passers-by disturbed the robbery on Friday at about 6pm and he fled empty handed.
The man was white, slim, aged between 18 and 20, and wore a hooded top.
