NHS officials have moved to reassure Bicester that it will still get a new hospital.
They said money for the project was secure and a new plan and timetable for the work would be made public soon.
The move comes weeks after NHS Oxfordshire, the county’s primary care trust, which runs community hospitals, pulled the plug on an 18-month tendering process for the project to replace the existing Bicester Community Hospital.
The trust blamed the decision on complex legal issues in the tendering process that could have left it open to possible legal action.
