TWO teenage girls challenged robbers who threatened them with a knife.

The two 17-year-olds were walking along Fairacres Road, East Oxford, at 10.20pm on Monday when two teenagers approached them on bikes.

They threatened the girls with a knife and told them to hand over their purses. The girls challenged them and the boys cycled off.

The boys are described as white, about 5ft 8in tall and aged about 16.

One was skinny and wore a grey hooded top with the hood up and black tracksuit bottoms.

The other was of bigger build, with short brown hair. He was wearing a dark Nike hooded top.
