I grew fed up with the ‘chattering classes’ claiming yesterday’s poll was the first internet General Election. It wasn’t.

In fact things only got interesting (in the loosest sense of the word) after the first TV debate between the party leaders.

For all the blather about Twitter, iPhones and Facebook, the online commentators only really got active since that screening.

The ‘traditional’ media, which include TV, usually still set the pace, even in the 21st century.
