What is the most important thing in your life?

Depending on your age, sex and general outlook this could range from your house and car to your job or friends.

For those who are parents however, undoubtedly the most important thing in your lives is your children and inevitably you will need to make decisions about their care and education.

Chandlings Nursery was established in September 2005 and in response to the demands of many of their young, working families, in September 2009 the nursery opened its doors to children from the age of two. Children may now enter the nursery immediately after their second birthday.

The nursery was extended and refurbished in part of the new surroundings and structure for the under-fives at Chandlings, within what is known as the Early Years Courtyard.

The school has preserved the small, secure, warm, family feel of the Early Years department.

The friendly, approachable and highly qualified staff have a wealth of experience between them and are able to make even the tiniest of children feel happy and secure.

Set in the stunning grounds of Chandlings, the nursery provides well planned activities making full use of the 60-acre site, one of the many benefits of being part of a successful independent prep school.

In February, the nursery was inspected by Ofsted. The overall quality of the early years provision was judged to be “outstanding”.

The report said: “Children are very well safeguarded as highly trained and dedicated staff work with an excellent understanding of all procedures.

“Children are able to play in rooms according to their interests, moods and needs and access resources that promote their all round development.’ “There is a great sense of fun in the setting as staff make timely and appropriate interventions to maximise children’s learning opportunities.

“The setting is dedicated to all children achieving their very best.”

If you are looking for a nursery which is well designed, spacious and attractive, with highly-qualified staff who show great skill and understanding, where children thrive in a setting which is committed to being child-friendly and which provides children with maximum opportunities to be independent, challenged and to make choices, then Chandlings could be that place.
