A man was today jailed for life for murdering a 67-year-old woman near Gawcott.
Benjamin Harry Radojevic, 25, of Hillesden Road, Gawcott, was given the life sentence at Reading Crown Court for the murder of Sally Hingston in August 2009. He was convicted on Friday.
He will serve a minimum of 21 years before being considered for parole.
Det Chief Insp Pete Vigurs, the officer in charge of the investigation, paid tribute to Mrs Hingston and her family.
He said: “I would like to say to Reg, Bruce and Roy Hingston that I admire the courage and dignity they have shown throughout this ordeal.
"I want them to know that everyone who spoke to the police about Sally during this investigation told us how popular and well-loved she was locally and how much people miss her.”
