Wantage knew that the title was theirs if they could overcome close rivals Oxford Irish. Wantage were gifted an early goal when Irish keeper Aaron Samworth was unlucky to spill the greasy ball for Luca Rennie to score. Concords had the majority of the pressure and possession during the first half but clear cut chances were in short supply and the two teams worked hard in midfield to cancel each other out.
Wantage continued to drive forward in the second half and midway through Luke Ulyatt was tripped in the box after a fantastic marauding run, before getting up to dispatch the resulting penalty. Irish upped their game and put a lot of pressure on the Wantage defence, with Kasam Gurum going agonisingly close with a shot which bounced off the crossbar. But Wantage held out to clinch the title with a game to spare, a great achievement for Manager Tom Collins and all the boys.
