THERE is a solution to the traffic congestion at the entrance to Bicester Village (Oxford Mail, April 29) – create an exit at a different point than that at which traffic enters.

This was the recommendation before Bicester Village was opened and at that time the means to create it were easier than it is today.

When the Village was first built there was fairly open land at the northern end, where the new car parks are being created, and a slip road to join the A41 near Rodney House roundabout seemed the obvious way forward.

Since that date, however, new car parks and a small business park have been built on some of that ground.

There is still hope, but it must now cost three times as much to build as then.

That, however, seems to be the policy these days: procrastinate then fork out.

The problem should have been put to the infant classes at the local schools. They would have given the answer.
