Police have recovered a knife from the scene of a stabbing in Cowley Road this afternoon.
Now officers are appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to come forward.
The victim, a man in his 30s, is currently receiving treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital. He suffered stab wounds to the stomach, police have confirmed.
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and is currently being questioned by police.
The men are understood to have known one another.
Det Sgt Katy Barrow-Grint said: "There will have been a lot of people on Cowley Road at the time of this incident that may have seen what happened.
"I would urge these people to contact police as soon as possible and let us know what they saw.”
The incident happened near the Tesco supermarket shortly before 4.30pm.
