KINGSTON Bagpuize were on the receiving end of a hiding from leaders Cumnor, but managed to escape with a draw.

Bagpuize's decision to field first backfired as the home side plundered 342-5.

James Neilson batted throughout to compile a classy 122 not out, while Ali Morteza smashed 85 from 62 balls and Geoff Walford 53 from 32 deliveries.

The visitors showed little interest in chasing the target, but Dominic Pike hit 45 and the tail hung on to close on 161-9.

Abingdon Vale stay second, despite suffering a heart-breaking defeat at home to Bourton Vale.

Bourton were 45-6 and 131-9 in pursuit of Abingdon's 194 all out, before Ryan Newhook hit an unbeaten 36 to take the visitors to an improbable one-wicket win.

Earlier, Newhook had taken 4-42 while Abingdon captain Ed Tilley hit 51 in the home side's innings.

Henley 2nd despatched promotion-chasing Great & Little Tew by six wickets.

Rob Willis took 5-72 as Tew were restricted to 220-9, in which Shane Faulkner hit 57 and Justin Parker 47.

David Rhodes (52) got the home side's reply off to a decent start as they knocked off the runs with more than three overs to spare.

The fine form of Tiddington's batsmen continued as they overwhelmed Bledlow Ridge by nine wickets.

Just four wickets fell all day as Ridge had apparently given themselves a fighting chance by posting 205-3.

Martin Middleton top-scored with 68, while Ben Keeping was unbeaten on 58.

But Tiddington made light work of the run chase, racing to 206-1 in the 32nd over thanks to scores of 76 not out from both John Mackie and South African Riaan Krynauw.

Leighton Buzzard Town finally chalked up their first win since last year's promotion by overcoming strugglers Witney Mills.

Tony Francis took 7-44 as Mills were bundled out for 134.

There was little resistance once Pete Claridge (60) and Mike Carratu (35) had gone.

Tom Scott (76no) then held together Town's reply as they won by six wickets with plenty of overs to spare.
