A 42-YEAR-OLD man was found bleeding in the street after a suspected late-night brawl in Oxford city centre.

The man, who has not been named, suffered head wounds following an alleged attack on the corner of New Road and Worcester Street at 1.15am today.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital to receive stitches to the wounds and released two hours later.

Police cordoned off the area this morning and set up a tent for forensic teams to prevent blood left on the pavement washing away in the rain, a spokesman said.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.
