Sir, Congratulations to our parish council on putting up the first of the 'Welcome to Blackbird Leys' signs.
We do welcome almost all who come to live in our bit of Oxford. It is a pity that some can't move on from what happened 20 years ago and look at Blackbird Leys as it is now. With everything, from our own newspaper Leys News, the BLITZ Computer Hub, adventure playground, to football and bowls, Blackbird Leys is a great community, where many of us get involved in helping with things which interest us. Some of your interviewees should look to a future where they will be proud to say they live near Blackbird Leys, rather than worrying about a long gone past.
