The country's highest ranking soldier visited Oxford last night to address students at the Oxford Union.
Chief of General Staff Sir Mike Jackson, above, was due to talk about modern warfare as well as taking questions on Iraq.
Sir Mike, who has spent 40 years in the military, was once named the "Prince of Darkness" for his cool nerve under strain.
