A woman died this morning in a head-on crash near Banbury.
A blue Vauxhall Nova travelling from the direction of Hopcrofts Holt towards Deddington collided with a Citroen on the A4260 Oxford road at about 8.30am.
A woman in the Citroen died at the scene. Three people in the Nova were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
One man was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford, with a fractured arm and leg, and a man and a woman were taken to the Horton Hospital in Banbury. One of the patients taken to the Horton suffered neck injuries.
The road was closed to allow accident investigators to examine the scene, and diversions were in place.
