It's every woman's dream a cottage industry run by two enterprising designers that can create colourful garments that not only fit, but have been tailored to suit their fashion needs.

Eynsham-based June Middleton and Margaret Underwood are displaying their designs for the first time at Artweeks venue 108, 6 High Street, Eynsham. They began working together a year ago and are already making their mark in the fashion world.

It's here, in the front room of their Cotswold stone cottage, you can see their 2006 designs which makes much of the loose, stylish swinging look, created from fabric cut on the bias, which is so popular today. These are garments that not only match the times in which we live, but fit comfortably too.

They also follow the inside out trend', which celebrates untrimmed hems. In other words, these bespoke garments are all very modern and designed to suit women of all ages.

June and Margaret have worked as a team to create this collection, designing and making up the garments together, using both linen and silk and decorating many of their garments with bold cloth-covered buttons.

While visitors are invited to purchase items on display during Artsweek, June and Margaret expect most of their prospective customers to order a garment inspired by those displayed that can be made to order. Any changes the customer requires to the original design can be accommodated. It also means that customers who find it difficult to get a garment that actually fits properly can enjoy the thought of a perfect fit styled especially for them.

Hand-crafted linen and silk handbags of all sizes are also available. These, too, can be made to match a particular outfit, and all at very reasonable prices.

The men are not overlooked. A fine display of hand-made silk ties and shirts are also included in this colourful collection. Shirts are something June and Margaret find particularly easy to make as both admit to having made their own tailored shirts for many years.

Image Clothing will remain on show until Sunday from noon to 5.30pm daily. You will find this exhibition in the centre of Eynsham, just a few steps from the Co-op.
