Ann Granger, who lives near Bicester, has a string of successful crime novels to her name. Her latest book, A Rare Interest in Corpses (Headline, £19.99), introduces a new Victorian detective, doctor's daughter Lizzie Martin, who is as sparky and sympathetic as Granger's modern heroines.
