Sir, Surely everyone in the Abingdon area will support our mayor, Alison Rooke, and the town council in their campaign to keep our local hospitals in their current use.
The decision to close or reorganise them is iniquitous and is being taken by an unknown and unelected group of people the PCT. They belong to the bureaucracy that is choking to death our NHS. The Abingdon Hospital is part of our heritage, originally built and still supported by the people of Abingdon. It is outrageous that it should be attacked by this group.
When the need arises we want a place in which to be nursed, where family and friends can visit, without embarking on a bus safari. I would urge all your readers to unite in their support of the council's campaign against closures.
Mary Greenham, Abingdon
