A FLUENT unbeaten 65 from Dan Gaunt swept Cumnor to a surprisingly easy nine-wicket win over last year's promotion challengers, Tiddington.

The home side never really recovered from Ayaz Khan's opening burst of 3-25, although captain Jon Talbot (55) led a recovery of sorts before his side were dismissed for 152.

Their fortunes deteriorated further when opening bowler Neil Smith injured his foot while batting and was unable to take the field after tea.

Gaunt was supported by Graham Scott, who hit a scratchy 45 not out, as Cumnor eased home.

Great & Little Tew spinner Steve Murrey (5-48) ran through the Bourton Vale batting line-up to help dismiss them for just 133 and set up a four-wicket victory.

He was well supported by Lloyd Brock, whose nine overs yielded only 14 runs and Kevin Taylor's 3-13 and some high quality fielding.

Tew were in trouble at 15-2, but Dave Powells continued his excellent pre-season form with an unbeaten 64 as victory was secured at 136-6 shortly before heavy rain set in.

Richard Oakey's winter health kick paid early dividends when he took 5-44 to set up a nine-wicket win for Kingston Bagpuize at Leighton Buzzard Town.

Put in to bat, Town managed a meagre 100 all out on their relaid square, which proved rather slow and low.

Kingston found life rather easier, however, as new boy Mohmed Seedat (58no) helped take them to 105-1 inside 17 overs.

Abingdon Vale made the most of being asked to bat first and a short boundary to rack up 280-8 dec in 44 overs at Witney Mills.

Ed Tilley (91) and Charles Smook (78) enjoyed a century partnership as Vale's batsmen hit 13 sixes between them.

Sagar Nandi Konda followed up his 3-39 with a quickfire 36 to get Mills off to a good start.

But Oxfordshire left-arm spinner Paul White took 4-31 to halt their progress.

The loss of six overs to rain left both sides settling for a draw.

Newly-promoted Henley 2nd came within five balls of hanging on for a draw at home to Bledlow Ridge.

Ridge had struggled to 166 all out against some tidy bowling by Rob Willis (4-43) and Andrew Johnson (3-45).

Darren White then hit 54 in Henley's reply, but left-arm seamer Paul Bzezicki took 5-51 to help bowl out the hosts for 140 off the first ball of the final over.
