BOURTON Vale captain Nick Anderson hit boundaries off the last three balls of the final over to condemn Kidlington to a stunning four-wicket defeat. When Anderson came to the wicket, Vale needed nine to win off four ballsbowled by Kidlington skipper Mark Strong. After failing to score off the first delivery, Anderson struck the next three for four to secure a dramatic victory. A philosophical Strong said: "Although I'm slightly disappointed, it was a cracking game of cricket. "If every game is as exciting as that, we'll have an enjoyable season." Earlier, Anderson had taken 5-93 in the visitors' 257-9, which was built around Ross Lupton's 81 and John Kitson's 66. Vale's Brendon Rabbit did not live up to his name by hitting 107 to set up victory.

Twenty never really recovered and limped to 143-9 in reply, with Nathan Brooks taking 4-46.

Rob Keates (45) and Martin Shepherd (51) put Kingston Bagpuize in a strong position at Milton Keynes Park. But when Keates had to retire hurt, things started to go awry. From 122-0 with 20 overs to go, they struggled to 203-8. The Division 1 newcomers then had Park in trouble at 80-4, and scented victory when they reduced the home side to 151-8 in the 39th over.

But Graham Simpson (53no) saw Park home without further loss with nine balls to spare.

The in-form Chris Thomas struck an unbeaten 91 for Oxford 2nd, but their 190-5 never looked enough against title favourites Shipton, who won by six wickets. The only support for Thomas came from David Angove's 42.

Andy Hemming led the way for Shipton with 61, and a typically robust 47 not out from Jason Constable finished the job with six overs unused.
