Great & Little Tew needed five runs with three wickets in hand to beat basement boys Bledlow Ridge ­ but lost the last wicket with the scores level as the game finished in a dramatic tie. Put into bat Ridge had struggled to 147-9, despite a decent start provided by Kiwi skipper Andrew Binnie (64) and Martin Middleton (43). Steve Murrey took 6-69. Tew lost early wickets to left-armer Paul Brzezicki (4-48), but set up a potential win before the dramatic finale.

Robin Newman produced a dazzling display for Abingdon Vale against promotion-chasing Tiddington. Newman took 6-55 to dismiss Tiddington for 141 and rekindle Vale's hopes of
going up. Earlier opener Ben Humpage hit 47 in Vale's 156 all out.

Banbury 2nd made the most of their main rivals' failure to win by dishing out a lesson in batting to Sandford St Martin. After electing to bat, Andrew Sabin hit a classy 104 and Ian Tew 63 as Banbury declared one over early on 249-4. Mark Robey made 56 for Sandford but Ian Adams took 4-59 as they were all out for 161.

Oxford Downs are up to second after a convincing win at Cumnor. The hosts were reduced to 31-5 by Goolam Bhayat, who finished with 5-72. But they recovered to 153 all out thanks to an unbeaten 50 by captain Clive Ricks, who defied doctors' orders to play. Wes Bartlett then hit 75 not out as Downs cruised to 155-5, despite Gareth Brown conceding just 34 runs from 23 overs.

Steve Kelly took 6-78 as Witney Mills made it four wins in a row, with Wolverton Town becoming their latest victims. Kelly's efforts saw Town bowled out for 195 in reply to Mills' score of 229-5. Mark Cannons top-scored with 85 not out for Witney, while captain Pete Claridge hit 46.
