Facing Tonga at Iffley Road on Sunday (3pm) will bring back many memories for Oxford University back Sean Fauth.

The 30-year-old won the last of his 29 Canadian caps against the Polynesians in the 2003 World Cup, scoring one of tries of the tournament.

Tonga take on the Dark Blues ahead of clashes against Italy and France in the next two weeks and Fauth knows just how physical they will be.

He said: "They are big guys. My opposite number in 2003 was 30kg heavier than me, but I had more body fat.

"We exchanged jerseys afterwards and I was swimming in his, although it looked like it was painted on him.

"Tonga are a big test. The way most teams get around them is to play a more controlled, structured game."

Fans will witness the Tongan haka, and what should be a highly competitive match as Oxford's players have only four games left to impress before Twickenham.

Fauth knows he has his work cut out to bag a Varsity Match start.

"I'm 100 per cent committed to it," he said. "But I'm also 100 per cent committed to my business programme.

"I hope to be there, but I don't think I'll know right up until the last minute.

"I think one thing that works in my favour is that I've played all the top teams in the world and I didn't find I got as nervous as the other players."

Fauth, a winger for Canada, scored twice against England, and also faced New Zealand in the World Cup.

His former teammate and Oxford Blue Kevin Tkachuk recommended the university and he is now taking a one-year MBA at the Said Business School.

Oxford name their squad tonight and Ross Lavery is available after injury, but Paul Laffin is still out.

FANS are asked not to drive to Iffley Road on Sunday due to limited parking.
