ENGLAND speedway international Paul Hurry is joining new signings Jason Crump and Steve Schofield in the Oxford Cheetahs line-up for the new season, writes JOHN GAISFORD.

Promoter Steve Purchase says he has reached agreement to bring the young England ace to Cowley.

Purchase said: "It will be a permanent transfer and that's a real bonus for us because I think he will be a brilliant rider in years to come. I have had a chat with team manager Martin Goodwin and he agrees he has a special talent."

Hurry comes from King's Lynn after the Norfolk club signed Polish star Piotr Protasiewizc, who was originally offered to Oxford. Hurry has guested often for Cheetahs in the past and rides the Sandy Lane circuit well.

Meanwhile, Oxford's new No 1 Jason Crump is currently fourth in Australia in the Masters International Series, with one round remaining.
