DANISH star Jan Staechmann faces a late fitness test as Gresham Oxford Cheetahs take on all star Coventry Bees in a Speedway Star KO Cup clash at the stadium tonight (7.30 pm).
The Dane took a battering in the narrow defeat at Wolverhampton on Monday and suffered elbow and leg injuries as well as bad bruising.
One thing is certain, Cheetahs will need everyone firing as they take on three of the world's top stars in current world champion Greg Hancock, 1996 champ Billy Hamill and Brain Andersen.
They are the most feared trio in the Elite league, and with this fixture having a derby look about it, the Bees will have a great following.
Although unbeaten at home, they still have to win on their travels and team manager Colin Pratt is confident they can put that right tonight.
Jason Crump and Co might have something to say about that and a battle royal is on the cards.
The key could be Staechmann's fitness and the form of Australian Steve Johnston. He appeared to be getting his act together at Monmore on Monday after a poor debut last Friday.
Following last week's problem with car parking, measures are being taken to ensure that everyone can park safely. Fans are asked to watch out for the signs.
Oxford: Crump, Steachmann, Johnston, Hurry, Schofield, Hare.
Coventry: Anderson, Tacey, Hancock, Hamill, Robson, Walsh.
