BAILIFFS and police will move in tomorrow morning to begin ejecting a group of travellers occupying more than two acres of sports pitches at Sandford On Thames.

An order for immediate possession of the land was granted to Magdalen College School at Oxford County Court yesterday THURS.

College bursar Michael Kefford said vehicles and caravans started arriving on May 12 and the number had steadily increased to 24, affecting the school's use of five football and hockey pitches.

Judge Morton Jack said it was monstrous for the pitches to be littered with people who had no right to be there.

He said: "There seems to be a degree of prosperity among these people because some of the registration numbers of their vehicles are quite new."
