A party of children escaped unhurt when a car was in

collision with their school bus.

The 55-seater school bus, owned by Grayline Coaches, was on its way from Icknield School in Watlington to Kingston Blount when the accident happened on Friday.

A Nissan Micra, driven by Victoria Thorn, 23, of Oakley, near Thame, was involved in a collision with the bus after coming round a corner in Stert Road, Aston Rowant, a police spokesman said.

The driver of the coach, Reginald Raven, 43, of Mortimer Road, Rose Hill, Oxford, and the eight children on board escaped unhurt.

Miss Thorn was also uninjured.

A relief driver from Grayline was sent out and took the children on to their homes after the collision at 3.50pm.

Brian Gray, owner of Grayline Coaches, said: "It's a fact of life if you're travelling on narrow country roads, you get minor scrapes and that was the case in this instance."

The Bicester-based company runs about a dozen school buses.
