FORMER Oxford United defender Mark Wright has announced his retirement from football after spending a year out with a back injury.
The 35-year-old defender, who won 45 England caps, left United for Southampton in 1981-82 before signing for Derby and then Liverpool.
Wright, who made ten first-team appearances for United, hopes to take up a career in coaching or management.
