An inmate at Bullingdon Prison, near Bicester, who ended a hunger strike over genetically modified food two weeks ago, is now threatening to refuse liquids, claiming the prison authorities failed to meet his demands.

Vegan Ben Thompson, who is a month into a three-month sentence for his part in a demonstration at Hillgrove cat farm, near Witney, claimed prison staff had gone back on an agreement not to serve him genetically modified food.

Thompson says he will refuse liquids from Thursday.
