Inspector Morse captured the best drama award at the Royal Television Society Midlands awards ceremony in Birmingham.

The winning episode was Death is Now My Neighbour, which was partly filmed at the Oxford Mail offices. The episode ended years of speculation by revealing the Oxford-based sleuth's Christian name - Endeavour.

Morse makers Central TV and parent company Carlton, won a total of five awards at the ceremony.
