A HUGE order for mouse mats has been scooped by a Kidlington based manufacturer.

Data Private Label, which makes mats featuring The Simpsons, Wallace and Gromit, as well as football and golf motifs, has landed a 100,000 mat order from Marks & Spencer.

Major accounts manager Deborah Dunsden said: "This 100,000 mat order is a wonderful endorsement of the experience and expertise we've built up over five years manufacturing mouse mats and related products, and the relationships we've been able to build with our customers.

"It also shows how far computer technologies have penetrated the home environment.

"I'm sure there are going to be a lot of happy dads on Christmas morning as a result."

Data Private Label is a division of Data Business, founded in 1989, which last year achieved a turnover in excess of £4m.

It has four divisions: Data Production, providing a complete outsource data production service; Data Resources, suppliers of information and audio technologies; Data Private Label, custom-made promotional products; and Data Products, retail desktop products.

Data Private Label designs and makes a range of computer-related goods, including mouse mats, wrist rests, desk and counter mats.

Customers include BP, BT, Microsoft, Research Machines, Rover and Royal Mail.
