By John Gaisford DROOPYS Mint is Derby-bound after slaughtering his rivals in greyhound racing 's William Hill Trafalgar Cup at Oxford Stadium last night.
The Ted Soppitt-trained brindle (6-1) made a cracking start and showed why early pace is so vital when trouble behind him at the first bend presented him with a clear run.
Red jacket runner Me Only moved off at the first bend, upsetting most of the field including hot favourite Crack Me Out, but held on to be second, 1U lengths adrift of the victor, who picked up £1,000 for his owners.
The Sky Sports-televised meeting attracted a good crowd who were treated to some fine fare, none better than Foxfield Shane (10-1), who short-headed 11-10 favourite Rockethall Rover in the Wiliam Hill Hurdles.
Four-times Oxford winner Toronto Donna found the impressive Palace Issue (2-9) different class in the Stayers as the Walthamstow runner had over six lengths to spare at the line.
