Chipping Norton's big pack took advantage of the wet conditions to subdue Bicester and record an 8-3 victory at the Greystones.

Bicester started strongly, with James Borgnis to the fore in the line-outs, and they took the lead through Alex Mulenga's penalty.

Chippy equalised in the second half with an Adam Smith penalty and stole victory seven minutes from time with a try by winger Jonathan Hickman, which was allowed despite the suspicion of a forward pass. Oxford Harlequins secured third place with a 26-17 victory over Bletchley in wet and windy conditions at Horspath Road.

Quins led 11-5 at the break thanks to two penalties from fly half Gareth E Jones and a try by speedy winger Steve Chadbone who showed a clear pair of heels to the Bletchley defence.

In the second half, good play by the forwards and backs put full back Lewis Taylor over for a try before Jones added his third penalty.

Bletchley replied with a try, but Quins skipper Chris Price won line-out ball, from which centre Anthony Cope dummied his way over for a try which Jones converted.

The visitors had the final say with a converted try.

Oxford's miserable season came to nightmare end, when they were unable to raise a side for their final match away to champions Witney.

As the game does not affect any promotion or relegation issues in the Southern Counties North, the clubs might agree not to rearrange the fixture.
