More than 1,000 people are calling for road safety improvements on a road after three people died there within three weeks earlier this year, writes Suzanne Huband.
Oxfordshire firefighter Richard Bianchi was killed after his car and a lorry collided at the junction of the A44 Woodstock to Stratford Road with the B4437 Charlbury to Stonesfield Road in February.
Just weeks later retired dentist John Brooker, 85 and his wife Jessie, 79, were killed when their car and a coach collided at the same spot.
The couple lived at The Ley, Woodstock.
The junction has a long slip road past Judd's Garage and the Duke of Marlborough public house.
A petition signed by more than 1,000 people has been sent to the director of environmental services at Oxfordshire County Council David Young.
One of the organisers of the petition, Dr Helen Van Oss, of the Woodstock Surgery, said: "There have been three deaths there within three weeks and numerous minor accidents at this junction.
"We are calling for urgent action to improve this junction."
