Oxford Ceramics, who used to sponsor Lawrence Hare when he was at Cowley, have now turned their attention to the 'Red Raider' Roman Povazhny.
Roman, obviously inspired by his latest deal, produced his best performance of the season to notch up paid seven points against Coventry on Friday.
Ceramics will provide the Russian with tyres for both home and away meetings and various engine parts throughout the season.
Roman's mechanic, Steve Chilman, used to ride for Wimbledon in the 1960s. He doesn't have too many happy memories of Oxford. He crashed here once and was in the old Radcliffe Infirmary for some time. Roman, who is a lone Russian riding in this country, refused to have his national flag attached to the seat of his leathers. He wouldn't insult his country by sitting on the Russian flag!
