A group looking for men willing to spare their blushes and strip off for a nude calendar has been inundated with offers from women.

The promise of Oxfordshire's finest baring all has prompted several offers from women keen to get in on the act and set up a quality control panel to vet the candidates.

The Headington Forum voluntary group is following in the footsteps of the now infamous Yorkshire Women's Institute which started the charity nude calender craze. The group is planning to raise money for a local community or leisure centre So far, eight bold males have come forward, two of them after reading about the calendar in last Friday's Oxford Times. The forum's Nicholas Newman, who will be one of the models, said: "We have had calls from women wanting to be part of a quality control panel and, as we believe in quality, we are looking for more women volunteers to come forward.

"We still need four more male models to come from out of the blue to take part and when we have all twelve we can start shooting."

The group is appealing for a volunteer photographer to shoot the calendar.
