A goal from skipper Andy Smith on the stroke of half-time was enough to give Oxford City their second away Ryman League Division 1 victory within 48 hours on Saturday.

Smith's strike gave mid-table City, 2-1 winners at Leatherhead on Thursday, another three-point haul.

City started brightly and, after Potter sent an effort wide in the sixth minute, a lovely run from Strong came to nothing when his low centre flashed across the home goal. City were doing all the attacking and, after their fifth corner, another good effort from Potter was charged down and Richard Peirson headed wide from a free kick from Justin Lee.

But City's dominance was rewarded in the 45th minute when a powerful 20-yard shot from Danny Wise rebounded off the inside of the post, and Smith reacted first to slot home.

Although Peirson blocked Harlow's first real effort from Wayne Falana, home keeper Darryl Trigg saved from Strong and then just reached a free kick from Whitehead.

Foster got away with it when he was robbed as he tried to dribble around Falana.

City were still on top and Strong missed a sitter when his pace beat Trigg to a through ball, but his lob was inches wide. And another great chance went begging when Wise cut in, but shot wide.
