The chairman of a council planning committee accused fellow councillors of Monty Python decision-making.
The Thame town council committee was looking at plans for a new car park submitted by the town's cricket club.
The first one had been rejected because a screening wall was too low. When an amended plan came up for discussion, there was no screening wall at all.
But members decided to back it.
David Dodds said: "Last time a wall at 2ft 6in high was considered too low. Now you are saying no wall at all is OK. Come on. This is not Monty Python."
The committee voted 5-2 to back the application.
