A major study to develop a comprehensive transport strategy for Headington and Marston is to go ahead following a meeting by the Oxford Transport Strategy Working Party.

The study is to take place following developments at the Radcliffe Infirmary and Oxford Brookes University, which are expected to have a dramatic impact on the area, with huge implications for traffic conditions.

The working party was told by officers that the potential impact of various planning applications made by different bodies in the Headington area would, combined, have potentially a very severe impact on transport.

The aim of the study is to devise a transport strategy for Headington, Marston and Oxford to limit the impact of the new developments. The area covered by the study will include The Plain, Cowley Road, the northern bypass, eastern ring road and River Cherwell, as well as surrounding areas.
