A pensioner was badly beaten in a 'senseless attack' by youths trying to rob him.
The 69-year-old was walking along Kennet Road in Headington, Oxford, at 5.45pm on Monday (July 31), when he was approached by two men in their early 20s, who told him to hand over his money.
Despite being told he had no cash on him, the two slammed the man against a wall, leaving him with bruises on his forehead and chest and a scraped arm.
A police spokesman said: "This was a senseless attack on a man who said he had no money."
Both men were white and about 5ft 6in tall. The first had light-coloured hair and wore a black shirt and dark coloured trousers. The second man had dark hair and wore a cream coloured shirt.
Anyone with any information should call Oxford police on 01865 266333.
