A leading US law firm specialising in hi-tech flotations has taken more than 10,000 sq ft of office space at ParkGate, Milton Park, near Abingdon, writes David Duffy.

Brobeck Hale and Dorr recently worked on the flotation of Milton tenant Bookham Technology, Oxfordshire's Business of the Year, and was attracted to the park by the large number of hi-tech companies ripe for flotation.

Several other knowledge-based companies are poised to sign leases on the 60,000 sq ft still available. ParkGate has three air-conditioned headquarters buildings at the entrance to the UK's largest business park.

Milton Park managing director John Bateman said, "Milton Park offers excellent facilities which would be hard to find in a city centre office location such as a gym, conference rooms and creche plus, tenants can benefit from a bespoke networking base on their doorstep."

Other Milton tenants include hand-held computer group Psion who confirmed long-expected plans to float its Symbian mobile Internet venture on the stock market.

Milton Park is owned and managed by Milton Park, a wholly owned subsidiary of MEPC. The park is home to more than 150 businesses employing over 5,000 people on a site of 250 acres.
