Local percussionist Michael Simpson will join forces with a percussion quartet from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to perform at the Holywell Music Room on Sunday September 10. Michael Simpson in Concert will include music from Japan and South America, as well as a piece by Evelyn Glennie and the premier of a work he composed himself. The concert is being staged to raise funds for a charity tour of children's homes and orphanages in Bulgaria by the All Souls Orchestra, of which Michael is a member.
